Soccer Sunday

I would love to be able to post pictures of Cj playing his game, but they just don't come out that good! :( I have a question?? Should girls be allowed to play in boys soccer if there are girls leagues available for them to play in??
I feel very frustrated about this. I can understand the girls wanting to move up and play and blah, blah, blah. BUT......the flip side. I have raised a gentleman for a son. I have always taught him that you treat a girl with respect and you be NICE to them. Being nice includes....no hitting, no pushing, no kicking, etc.... However, with soccer, he is now faced with playing against girls on the opposing teams. He will NOT be aggresive when facing them. He just won't do it!! The girls brutalize the guys and the guys are ruluctant to fight back like they would if it were another guy. I see the frustration in my son and the other boys on the team.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY

Yup things have been busy!! Thats good though right??!!

People are obviously not too afraid of the economy.....many of my clients are tanning preparing for their spring vacations.

Now I am starting to prepare for our next big event this summer. We have registered the family for the American Diabetes Association "Tour de Cure". I am excited about this event! Hubby and the two boys are going to be cycling, just the short distance though. Don't want to over do it the first year :) What am I doing......well......I am going to volunteer. I will have to practice my handing out water and cheering as they cross the finish line. :)

This is a special thing they are starting this year for the race. Anyone participating in the event that lives with diabetes will wear a red shirt.

Highest Praise

Your thoughts towards me a melody
Strong and clear and reaching me

Your grace toward me a harmony
Sustanining all my hopes and dreams

Your love toward me a symphony
Unyielding power taking over me

Your all I want....Your all I need

And I will sing the highest praise to all the earth
throughout all time
And I will love the highest love who first loved me
and set me free

My highest praise belongs to you
Its what I have I want to give

I don't know who wrote this but this is one of my favorite praise songs

Journey to Freedom

I am starting a 12 weeks Women's Bible study this wednesday. This is the book we are using! I am quite excited. We meet for two weeks, then we have what is called an "Encounter" weekend, then we meet weekly for the remaining sessions. I am excited to see how God is going to move!

Praise God

God is so good, God is SO faithful.
I am just so grateful today for the wonderful God that I love and that loves me back. He has blessed me in so many ways. And even through the difficult times, the stressful times, the times when I think I can't take anymore, he brings me through. All I can say is PRAISE GOD!!

What Happened!?!

Grampy (aka Tiny) passed away on Thursday February 19, 2009. We are just now having the funeral arrangements for him on Tuesday March 10, 2009. What happened?!

Well, we have our theory........Grampy hated winter in Maine in his later years and would go to be with his son in Florida. We feel Grampy intended to stick to his guns and not return to Maine until winter was OVER!!
Other side of the story.......Florida is just realllllyyyy slow.

Grampy we will miss you. You are loved by many.

Moving!!

Well today we began moving into the new salon......yippeee. I have to admit that it is a bitter-sweet time for me though. I have put alot of time and energy into the old space and to have to walk away (especially since it isn't my choice) is sad. :(
But.... The new space is awsome and things are coming together. Tomorrow the tanning beds are being delivered and assembled (we have a VERY long day ahead of us). And....Monday is the official open day in the new location!! Pictures will be coming soon!! :)

Sadness

Well, I am feeling quite sad and quite overwhelmed at the same time. My last living grandparent passed away last thursday.

My grandfather was living in Fl. for the winter with my uncle. This has caused a delay in the funeral arrangements :( Here we are monday evening and we still don't know when the funeral is going to be yet.....AAARRGGHHH.

I am feeling overwhelmed, because we are supposed to have moving day this friday into the new salon. Obviously my family obligations come absolutely first!! None the less, there are many things to be done and all is on hold until I know when the funeral is going to be.

It is ok though, I know everything will work out EXACTLY the way it is supposed to!! God IS in control!!

What a Year!!

Well my attempt at being a blogger have been feeble to say the least. I have had quite a crazy year.

Last August was most assuredly the worst day of my life. My 15 year old son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. We have had quite a turbulent 6 months!! I am glad to say though that he is now on an Minimed insulin pump and seems to be doing quite well!!

Praise God!!

I can't promise a thing, but I will try very hard "Country Mouse" to keep up with this.

There have been some other changes also!!

I have owned a hair salon for the last 5 years. I am being forced to vacate from my location. So for the last two months I have been searching for a new location and am glad to announce that we have found a place to relocate. We have been working diligently on fixing up the new place and are going to be opening for business on March 2!!

I am excited that we are going to be able to offer tanning as an option for our customers!! The new space is almost twice as big as the old location so tanning seemed like the most logical way to use the space with the least amount of time involvement on my part.

Everything seemed to fall into place.

Again......Praise God!!
